RIP Bob Wilson – Fleet Manager – 1958- 2017

By April 3, 2017No Comments

It is with great sadness that I must confirm that Robert Wilson, our Fleet Manager, passed away on Wednesday, March 29th, 2017. His passing was quite sudden, and without warning. It was a shock to his family, friends and co-workers.

Bob was a devoted husband, father, and brother to his family, and a friend and co-worker to those of us at Zimmer Air Services. He will be greatly missed by all.

Bob was employed by Zimmer Air Services over a span of 35+ years with a couple of breaks during that period. Hired originally as a Mix Rig Driver, his hard work and dedication to the success of Zimmer Air Services was recognized by Howard Zimmer, the founder of the company, and an offer of a flying position as an ag/forestry pilot was considered, prompting Bob to obtain his private airplane pilot licence. Bob did however decide that his talents were best served not in the air, but on the ground.

The phrase; “Jack of all Trades, Master of None!” did not apply to Bob. He was a talented body man, painter, welder, fabricator, and a whole lot more than I can address here. He was a licenced trailer mechanic, held an AZ driving licence, and was a licenced pesticide applicator in the Province of Ontario. Rumor was he even dabbled in home dentistry. 🙂

We could always rely on Bob to get the job done regardless of the complexity, or urgency with no supervision, little help, and minimal complaint. As a long time co-worker, and his employer over the last  number of years, we will miss his contribution to Zimmer Air Services Inc.,  but more importantly we will just miss him.

RIP Bob

Paul Zimmer
