Zimmer Air Services began operation in 1975 with a mandate to service agriculture, forestry and industrial vegetation markets. Although our business focus has evolved and expanded over the years we are still deeply committed to our aerial application beginnings.

As a result of our recognition as leaders in aerial application technologies, we have participated in pesticide registration trials for Vision & Garlon, the Fallingsnow Lake Ecosystem study and herbicide thinning trials.

Through our successful completion of 5 years of field trials in the 80’s on hydro rights-of-way, Quebec Hydro now has an alternative to manual cutting or ground spraying (on sites that are difficult to access or where terrain makes alternatives to aerial application prohibitive due to cost or safety issues) use aerial application techniques in vegetation management. Similar trials carried out for Hydro One in Ontario have resulted in the approval of aerial application as part of their vegetation management control strategy.
